Questions on Kerosene subsidy

1.       What is the amount of Subsidy given on Kerosene?

2.       What is the primary reason for giving subsidy?

3.       How much is the current consumption level of Kerosene and what is the purpose its being used for?

4.       Why should Kerosene subsidy be reduced? Would it not be detrimental to the poor? Give an exact economic logic for the same.

5.       Should subsidy for Kerosene be same across states? Or should it be dependent on per-capita income of states? Or are there some other factors?

6.       What are the negatives of diversion of Kerosene into adulteration etc?
